Exploring the Power of the Curve

“I do not know what I feel, till I see what I create. I have to create in order to see myself”

My artistic practice delves into the intricate complexities of the female experience, exploring emotions and introspection with a profound sense of curiosity. Through my art, I aim to convey the essence of these inner realms, offering viewers a glimpse into the rich tapestry of the female psyche.

My artistic approach constantly evolves as I embrace new techniques, materials, and ideas to express myself authentically. Each piece I create serves as an invitation for viewers to embark on their own contemplative journey, engaging with the inherent beauty and strength found within the female form.

By intertwining artistic expression with the complexities of human experience, I explore the profound nature of being a woman.”

Kat Preston is an emerging multidisciplinary artist based in the Shropshire Hills, who has recently expanded her artistic practice to include ceramics, sculpture and painting. Her work primarily focuses on the female form and explores the female psyche as a way to express her emotions.

As she continues to explore new mediums and push the boundaries of her artistic practice. Her unique artistic vision, technical skill, and ability to connect with audiences make her an artist to watch in the coming years.

About:

"From a young age, I have always felt a deep connection to art, knowing that a life of creativity was my true calling. While I only briefly attended BCU University to study Fine Art, I soon realised that the intellectual approach didn't align with my artistic vision, as my work is driven by raw emotions and expressive forms.

Following my departure from university, I delved into the world of large outdoor theatre and events, where I had the opportunity to create props and sculptures for parades, festivals, and even work with fire. This period allowed me to develop my skills and where I discovered my love for working with 3D forms.

However, it was the unforeseen circumstances of the pandemic that provided me with the opportunity to fully commit to my passion as a full-time artist. Now, I find myself based in the breathtaking landscapes of the Shropshire Hills, where the serene beauty and tranquil surroundings inspire me to create art that captures the essence of emotions and the organic forms that surround us.
