The Little Princes and The Leeches look at the harmful side of relationships.

I began making the Little Princes in anger, at relationships that kept failing and at men who let me down. Over long hours of making and wood firing, the anger turned into reflection. Was it really them, or was it the stories we are given? The prince who arrives, saves you and makes everything make sense. Those stories teach us our roles, and they ask the prince to carry a weight that no one can hold. The series is accompanied by four poems that answer back to the fairytale.

I made The Leeches as a single mass of sixty handmade ceramic leeches, wound over and through each other. They are the relationships that feed and take, and are gone once they are done.
